"Saved from the Snow... "
About the Picture:
This is not any old purple Iris flower picture. The flower in the picture is from a very brave plant. It decided to bloom in the dead of winter.
The stem had one open flower and three buds. They were surviving in the cold weather. After three days, it was time to rescue them from the coming colder weather...
Late that evening I remembered that I wanted to bring the flowers indoors. I went outside and snipped the main stem off.
Moonlit Fairy Garden
At about three in the morning I woke up. Through the closed curtains I could see that the moon was very bright. I looked out my bedroom window. As my eyes became used to the light (from the dark room), I realized that I was looking at a fairy garden... the garden was covered in a blanket of snow - the first snow in many, many years.
The last of the four rescued flowers opened about five days after I saved them from the freezing weather.
