Petrea Volubilis

and I call this picture...

"Purple Stars"

© flower-pictures-online.com

Plant Name: Petrea volubilis
Also known as: a Purple Wreath
Family: Verbenaceae
Origin: Mexico and Central America

About the picture:
This stem of flowers is from a friend's garden. I received a whole stem with five clusters of flowers to photograph. Fortunately I grabbed the opportunity to take the pictures right away. In about an hour's time it was already giving up on life... absolutely not a cut flower. I am going to try and make cuttings from it. Let's hold thumbs.

Most Interesting
The star-shaped flowers.

What is the color of these flowers?
No doubt you can call them purple. In this picture the color looks a little lighter than in real life.

Photography:
I used a mix of natural light and added flash light. As you can see, the veins are showing. A lot of light is coming from the background.

Camera:
Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
