Louisiana Iris Picture

The variety of colors of Louisiana Irises is so exciting. You even find reds. I have only one. It lives and grows very happily under African sky.

My aunt gave us the plant. It is in a container in a water feature. The water feature is in a protected corner of the garden. She lives very happily, very far from Louisiana.

... "fresh velvet"

... fresh velvet

About the Picture: Taking this picture required soft light and a fresh flower. A little wind and hot weather ... and your pretty flower from this morning is too tired for photography by afternoon.

About the Background: The leaves that form the background of the picture, is not that of the Iris. This Iris plant is very cozy with a plant that is next to the water feature. The leaves of the neighbor made a very pretty backdrop. The yellow green of the new leaves is the complimentary color of the flower's color. The result is that the flower stands even more out.
