I love the colors of this lavender flower picture. The flower is from our garden and the background is weathered wood.

The following was written after I saw this picture page after many, many months that it has been on the website. I looked at the picture with fresh eyes! When you think of lavender you think of purple flowers in bloom. Then when you see one up close you see that they are made up of strips of flowers at the top of their straight stems. The funny thing is that you hardly ever find all these little flowers on one stem in bloom at the same time. You normally find a combination of buds, fresh in bloom, some wilted, and other dry flowers all on one stem… these all make up the picture that we perceive as the lavender flower. What struck me about this particular flower is the number of fresh in bloom flowers it has showing in the picture. I guess that’s why it made it to this picture.
