Grape Hyacinth
"Spring Bells..."
 © flower-pictures-online.com
About the picture I planted grape hyacinth bulbs for the first time this year. It was pure fun to see them come through the soil in only a few days and to watch them till they bloomed.
I was surprised by how short the blooms lasted. I wanted the show to last longer. I took a few pictures before I went away for a long weekend. When I came back, it was all over! I was very disappointed. But, I did get a few good pictures.
Most Interesting The flowers are a lovely blue. It's no wonder that the bulbs I planted were called "heavenly blue". But have a look at the close-up pictures below. The flowers have touches of white and green too. It is pure artistry.
- Plant Name Muscari armeniacum
- Family: Liliaceae (lily Family)
- Origin: Southwestern Asia and the Mediterranean region

Image Light The light I used for these pictures is super sunlight diffused by an umbrella.
Image Background The white background is a combination of a near white wall and a white garden bench. I used the bench to put the flower pot on.
