Golden poppies pictures - this is my first page for these poppies. The California poppy is sometimes referred to as the golden poppy.

California poppies grow in full sun. The poppies in these pictures are also planted in full sun.
"Pop the Hood"...
About the Pictures:
I took these pictures of California or golden poppies one after the other. The second picture is further down the page.
The light was really good for garden photography... overcast sky, but not too much. The natural green of the plants are tranquil and refreshing.
The poppy in the middle of the "Pop the Hood" picture, is about to get rid of the hood. I didn't know that it was going to happen. Well, I actually did not realize that it happened until later.
"Drop the Hood"...
About the Picture:
These are the same California or golden poppies as in the first picture, minus the hood of the flower in the middle! Now, if you look closely, you will find the hood... It is still in the picture! The hood was dropped in the center of the open flower in the front of the picture. Yes, it happened right in front of me. And, I didn't see it. I just had a "hu?" moment later when I realized what has happened!
