Gerber Daisy ... Gerbera Daisy
You can call them gerber daisy, but the genus name is actually Gerbera daisy.
You need only one to brighten your day...
About the picture:
I bought them at the flower market. I am fortunate to live about 20 minutes drive away from the supplier of the largest selection of blooms in Africa.
I took this picture on a quiet moment on a windy day. I was on the front porch. Hoping to avoid some of the wind, some of the time. I was determined to use the flowers while they were looking their best.
Versatile ... Popular
So many colors... so many ways to enjoy them! By whichever name you call them, they are one of the most popular flowers. And it is easy to understand why. They have a magical ability to make you smile. But, on the more practical side they are so versatile...
You need only one! Unlike many of the other cut flowers, you can buy a single stem. And that is all you need. She has enough personality to stand on her own.
You can plant them in the garden or put them in a vase.
As a cut flower you can use them with long stems in tall vases or floating in a bowl of water.
Gerberas are inexpensive and last a long time. They can last for more than two weeks in a vase. The flowers of the potted variety can last even longer.
