I really don't expect good quality flowers when the flowers are placed in a walkway. In a walkway passing traffic can bruise them while brushing past or touch the flowers by hand.

Giving them a quick look, the flowers may look fine to you, but they are not going to last. They will show their bruising with brown marks tomorrow or the day after.

 The Flowers Need to Look Fresh
The flowers need to look fresh and in perfect condition.

Unfortunately many flowers show that they have traveled or were handled carelessly in some or other way.

Buying at a florist or specialist flower shop is a good idea because the focus is on flowers and flower care. Everybody working with the flowers will (or should) be educated about gerber daisy flowers and their care. You can expect them to have taken care of the daisies in their shop.
