| About the Pictures These pictures of blue Iris flowers (above and below) are samples of the two Dutch blues that we have in the garden. The flowers have been in the garden for one season only. They were planted in the same spot. But, they didn't flower at the same time. The medium blue flower bloomed for about two weeks before the light blue one started showing its blooms. |
I checked on the buds almost every day to see which new colors will be blooming next. I was about to give up on the promised light blue flowers when they eventually showed themselves!
About the Photography and Lighting
These pictures were taken in the garden with no added light. I used the shade cast by the house. But, what made this shade useful for photography was that it was very close to the bright sunlight.
